WAABI Wednesday - 11-11-09

Congratulations to all “Veterans” today. For all non-veterans be sure to “Thank Someone”.

This past Saturday, November 7, the Tri-State Chapter held our 7th annual fundraising event, “Cocktails for a Cause” for Sky Ranch for Boys located in South Dakota and Kids Café of Cincinnati. The event was a huge success with over 250 people in attendance.

Bobby Gleason, Master Mixologist, entertained the crowd with audience participation. Now we all know how to mix our cocktails; stir if it is all spirits and shake if it has juice. Thanks so much to Bobby for joining us for the event.

We had over 275 Silent Auction items, as well as 15 Live Auction items and special raffles ranging from a night at the Knob Creek Guest House to a 52” TV with a Bose speaker system.

We do not have final numbers, as of this writing, for proceeds going to our charities. We will make an announcement via email to all WAABI members when available.

The winner of the TV was Donald Hillerich with RPMI Packaging Incorporated; Small Batch winner was Curtis Kelley with the Booker Noe Plant; the Special Basket raffle winner was Ken Vordem Esche - Retired. Congratulations to all. Many thanks to all the WAABI volunteers who helped make our event successful and our sincere gratitude to all who attended. Due to your generosity, the money raised will be helping two very special organizations, and we are proud to be able to present a check to them very soon.
