DC Chapter 22nd Annual Golf Scramble |

 The Metro DC Chapter of WAABI (World Association of the Alcohol Beverage Industries) held their 22nd annual charity golf tournament & auction on June 30 at Renditions Golf Course in Davidsonville, Maryland. 72 golfers turned out for the event and helped DC WAABI raise over $11,000 for worthy causes. Leading the field with a score of 58, was the team sponsored by Skyy Spirits. (L-R) Mike McNally (Republic National Distributing Co.), John Linette ( Republic National Distributing Co.), Lauren Henderson (Skyy Spirits), Mike Goss (Republic National Distributing Co.). A highlight of the 2008 Metro DC WAABI Tournament was the $100,000 prize offered for a hole in one on hole #7. The contest, sponsored by Diageo, has been a feature of the DC WAABI tournament for several years, especially since the prize was won by a lucky golfer in 2005!
Metro DC WAABI will use the money raised at the tournament to support Sky Ranch Foundation, The Seed Foundation and the House of Ruth. Barry Becton, Senior Director of State Government Relations for Diageo is WAABI's national President. Christine LoCascio, Vice President of the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) is President of the Metro DC chapter.
