ky_state_capitol.jpgWAABI Meeting
February 7, 2008
Buffalo Trace Clubhouse

The meeting was called to order by Pat Haydon at 4:40 p.m.

Donna King introduced our WAABI Chapter officers:
• Donna King – Member at Large (liaison between National WAABI and our Chapter)
• Carla Jackson – Treasurer
• Debbie Clark – Secretary
• Donald Snyder – Vice President
• Pat Haydon – President

The following agenda items were covered by Pat Haydon:

(1) Donald Snyder organized the Battle of the Barrels in August 2007, which was held at Buffalo Trace. Proceeds from this event were donated to the YMCA – which totaled $900.00. The YMCA had previously been given $600.00. A check was then presented in the amount of $300.00 to Dave Steele, Executive Director of the YMCA. He stated this money would be used to for their youth sports teams.

(2) 2007 in Review:
• Last year’s Silent Auction netted $10,216.87 for The American Cancer Society.
• Relay for Life – This campaign netted $10,599.43 for The American Cancer Society. Would like to see more participation from our WAABI members at this event. Participants do not have to stay all night.
• Grand Total for The American Cancer Society - $20,816.50. acs_relay.jpg
• Salvation Army Angel Tree – Jim Beam sponsored 50 children, and Christmas gifts were bought by our WAABI members. In addition, $200 was donated to the Salvation Army. This was the first year for this event at our plant, and it went over exceedingly well.
• Sky Ranch received Christmas presents from WAABI members.
• WAABI donated $1,000 to the United Way of Franklin County.

(3) Membership Drive:
• Leslie Smith recruited the most members – won $50.00
• Two names were drawn from our new members – Brad Masters and Rachel Gaffney each won $50.00

(4) 2008 Silent Auction – This year’s event will be held on Friday, May 2 at
Buffalo Trace Clubhouse. More details to follow.
